Welcome to the Bay Block Family.
In this first blog I will explain how Bay Block came to be. Eleven years ago, I worked in the oil and gas industry as a safety coordinator for a drilling company. I was in Wal Mart checking out when one of the employees was in line with me. He said Hi, and the next words out of his mouth was “I fell out”. My immediate reply was “You fell out from where”. He said from the derrick board, but he said he was alright because the fall protection had worked. So, I asked him did he take it out of service, and he said no. I then asked him when he fell, and he said two weeks ago. So that told me that he had been wearing an impacted belt that wouldn’t work correctly for two weeks. I went to the rig and took the belt and lanyard out of service and had a talk with him and his bosses. Driving home I thought to myself “How do I fix that”.
That was the birth of the idea
