The main purpose is to save lives “Period.“
The industry for years has said that you should have fall protection in use. In fact, it is required by OSHA. I always thought that was a very good idea to wear it, but what happens after you have fallen is never really discussed. OSHA did put out a bulletin that explains that if you fall in fall protection and hang there you can develop “Harness Hang Syndrome”. It can cause serious injury and in some cases death. If the ZAC is used correctly it will save lives. This device will solve two problems in the industry and recreational activities.
- It will alert up to 5 people that someone has fallen to reduce the time of rescue
- It will alert the supervisors and or the users to take the fall protection out of service
